About the Author Mary Ellen Cooper
A life-long resident of Augusta, Georgia, Mary Ellen Cooper is an undergraduate and graduate professor for Brenau and Baker universities. In addition to undergraduate degrees in music and psychology, she received a master's in counseling, a master's in leadership development and a doctorate in human services with a specialization in counseling. She is a Georgia state-licensed and national board certified professional counselor. Before becoming a professor, Mary Ellen was one of the few regional licensed counselors to utilize pet therapy with hospitalized patients. She enjoys spending time with her family.
